What’s your story?

The story in this picture is sweet. Early on a Saturday morning, I was sitting on the beach, enjoying coffee and a good book and of course I had my camera close by. A surfer rides up on this very bike. Clad in a full wetsuit with a board under his arm, he parked the bike and headed for the water. This bike is so cute! It was a little unusual as the bike itself is rather feminine and he was not. So what’s the story? Well, the surfer wanted to surf and this was the most convenient form of transportation. Not exciting, but full of passion and life and sweetness.

There are stories all around us and those stories that are our everyday life are what make us who we are. Life is short and summer is even shorter. For the past two weeks, we’ve slowed down into summer mode. For a moment, it made me worried and concerned that I wasn’t “doing anything”. Then I snapped out of it and realized that it’s okay to take a break, a breather, to just be…It’s okay to spend time with those you love or simply doing what you love and to re-charge your own mind.

My days lately have been:
I jumped in the trampoline with my daughter.
I called a friend.
I caught up with my sister.
And they are about to get a lot busier….

So I remind myself and you too, to enjoy the simple pleasures of summer and create your own memories and stories. We’d love to hear yours too. What simple things are your enjoying this summer? What’s your story?

  1. I’ve been enjoying spending quality time with my hubby when we can. We really love cooking so we have been trying new things and enjoying all the hard work we put into the garden. At night we just like to get a good book and read and just curl up. Gotta love summer.

  2. I love this picture and the story!! Wish I was sorting on the beach with you! I agree that summer is the perfect time to slow down and just enjoy the quiet precious moments. Thanks for the story and reminder

  3. I feel the same way! I haven’t slowed down much this summer, but was thinking about it and realizing that life is too short! Thanks for the reminder today.
