“Some women pray for their daughters to marry good husbands. I pray that my girls will find girlfriends half as loyal and true as the Ya-Yas.” – Rebecca Wells, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
I think this truly sums up what this fun event was all about! Five women who have been friends for life, come together each year for a fun weekend. This year, we got to be part of it! One of the five friends had seen our segment on the KTLA news last March and called to book the party for September! We were honored to be a part of their weekend and have fun crafting with these amazing ladies.
These ladies have a lot of great memories, stories and photos of their adventures together. We offered a few craft options for them and ultimately settled on creating an initial photo collage.
We provided each the letter of their first name (12″ high), a kit with all the supplies needed and they brought out their favorite photos to collage.
It was a fun process of arranging, cutting, mod-pod’ing (that’s a thing) and trimming and for a finishing touch, adhering a ribbon hanger on the back.
There was music, laughter, cocktails and a lot of love with this special group of friends!
Each time we have an event, especially one like this, rooted in friendship and spending quality time together, we smile…knowing that this is why we created The Craft Shack as a business. Handmade. Fun. Together.
And one last Ya-Ya quote because there are so many good ones…
“They wanted to rock, they wanted to roll, they wanted to feel the peculiarly human feeling of having a perfect night in an imperfect world.”
